EHORCON Gets New Registrar/CEO

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr. Dominic Ojiabor Abonyi as Registrar/ Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON).

The appointment is with effect from September 3, 2015 as stipulated by the provisions of the Public Service Rule and other Regulations of Federal Republic of Nigeria in Furtherance of the provisions of Environmental Health Officers (Registration etc) Act, 2002.

Until his appointment, Mr. Dominic Abonyi was Head of Department of Registration, Ethics, Standard and Enforcement (DRESE) in the Council and acting Registrar, following the expiration of the tenure of Mr. Augustine Ebisike on August 14, 2015.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and also a Masters in Parmaceutical Microbiology from the same University.

Before joining EHORECON, he was lecturer, School of Health Technology and Head of Department, Environmental Health Orji River, Enugu.

Mr. Dominic Ojiabor Abonyi is a member of many professional bodies among which include Registered Environmental Health Officer, Member Society for Environmental Health (Mseh), Member Grassroot Environmental Health Care Initiative (Mgehi) and a host of others.
